If a preview or PDF fails

  1. Open Menu card or Inspector PDF and confirm the Menu selector.
  2. If the page says Create a menu first, create a menu before trying to generate output.
  3. Wait for the embedded preview to load. Print stays disabled until that preview is ready.
  4. Try Full preview to inspect the document in a separate tab. If the full preview works but PDF generation fails, use browser printing from the preview as a temporary option.
  5. For clipping, choose the matching Letter or A4 paper and correct orientation. Check all pages in print preview, including long dish names and the final allergen column.
  6. After changing Output preferences, generate a fresh PDF. An existing download does not update when preferences change.

Do not repeatedly download during a reported processing failure. Keep the error text and confirm whether the requested file was actually produced before retrying.

If the content is missing or looks outdated

An incomplete dish prints an explicit review warning. That is a recipe-information issue, not a broken PDF. Use Review your menu and check ingredients before producing a service copy. Hidden dishes and expired specials are deliberately excluded; inspect their visibility and end date if a row is missing.

Compare Updated timestamps, the selected menu, and the actual downloaded file. Replace older paper and attachments after changes. Opening a print dialog or saving a PDF does not prove a physical copy was replaced.

An inspector PDF includes internal kitchen and preparation notes even if they are not public, so review its contents before sharing. For Email PDF, a local-email notice means no external delivery. On a hosted account, verify the recipient and the sending result, then confirm receipt where needed. If sending is uncertain, avoid repeated messages and download the document for review. Viewers should ask an owner or editor to email the inspector PDF.
