Set up your restaurant
Enter your restaurant details, choose an allergen set, and choose how to add your first dishes.
For: Restaurant owners setting up Dishcard
In this guide
Step 1: enter the restaurant details
Setup starts with the restaurant identity used on your menu card, web menu, and PDF. One subscription is for one restaurant location.
- At Tell us about your restaurant, enter the Restaurant name as you want it displayed.
- Add City, State or region, and Cuisine type (optional) where useful.
- Check Restaurant time zone. It controls special end dates and output timestamps, so choose the kitchen’s location rather than the device’s location.
- Select Continue.
If you see Restaurant created; refresh needed, use Load restaurant. Do not create another restaurant to work around a refresh problem.
Enlarge screenshotStep 2: choose the information you will record
On Choose your allergen set, select US Big 9 or EU / UK 14. Review the displayed list. Use Additional flags (optional) for supported extra information you need, then choose Continue.
The setting controls the flags you review and display; it does not determine the requirements that apply to your business. You can change it later in Settings, but newly enabled allergens may require a fresh review of existing ingredients. Previously recorded flags are retained.
Step 3: add names, then check recipes
Choose Type my first dish, Paste menu text, or Upload a photo or PDF. Imported names are drafts for you to check. Import does not determine ingredients or allergens.
Try a sample dish adds a labeled example that stays hidden from the public menu. View completed example lets you inspect an example without treating it as your recipe. Choose Finish setup for now if you need to return later.
You have reached the starting point when the header shows the correct restaurant and Your menu lists your dishes. Finish their ingredients and review before using the outputs. Continue with Add your first menu, then use the first-service checklist.
