Find the right product record

Open Ingredients and use Search ingredients before creating another record. Your restaurant’s ingredients and the shared name suggestions are shown separately. A familiar name is not verified information about the product delivered to your kitchen.

Open an existing record if it is genuinely the same ingredient. If you use different products with different facts, keep distinct records and name them clearly. Choose Add ingredient for a new record. You can also create one while adding ingredients in a dish editor.

Record and review the ingredient

  1. Enter Ingredient name.
  2. Add Brand (optional), Supplier (optional), and an internal note when they help identify the product.
  3. Under Review allergens, choose None, Contains, or May contain for every enabled allergen using your source information.
  4. Use Mark remaining allergens as None only after checking those remaining entries. It is an explicit review decision, not a shortcut around missing facts.
  5. Check the preview and reviewed count, then choose Save ingredient.

When creating an ingredient inside a dish, the final button is Save and add ingredient. It adds the new record to the draft dish; you still need to save that dish.

Check the saved record and any affected dishes

Open the ingredient details and confirm the name, source notes, and separate Contains/May contain lists. For an existing record, use Review and save. If dishes are affected, inspect the confirmation and choose Save and update dishes.

If saving is blocked, check the ingredient name and every unreviewed allergen. A compound recipe also needs valid components. None means no flag in the entered information; it does not certify that a dish is suitable for a guest.

Current shared-library entries may show Allergen review required. Review them against your actual product before use. Do not treat the suggestions as a preverified supplier database. Use the Needs review filter to return to unfinished ingredient records.
