Understand the document

From Your menu, open Menu card, then select Inspector PDF. Owners and editors can also use Share on mobile. The page heading is Inspector-ready PDF. Choose the correct Menu before generating or emailing anything.

This record includes the menu card, full ingredient lists, preparation notes, internal kitchen notes, recorded dish override reasons and authors, and relevant changes from the last 90 days. Notes can appear here even when they are not public on the guest menu. It is useful for explaining the information your restaurant has recorded. The document title does not mean an inspector has approved it, that it satisfies every local requirement, or that the recipes have been independently certified.

Review unresolved ingredient warnings first. A polished PDF can still contain unfinished restaurant information. Read compound recipes and variants as carefully as the main dish.

The inspector export includes ingredient records, override reasons and recent changes alongside the chart.

Review, download, and print

  1. Read the restaurant name, menu name, paper size, orientation, and Updated time above the preview.
  2. Select Full preview and inspect all pages. Check a known dish’s ingredients and any recorded override reason against the current kitchen record.
  3. Select Download PDF to save a copy. Open the downloaded file and verify that it contains the intended menu and all expected pages.
  4. To print from Dishcard, wait for the preview to load, select Print, and check the printer’s paper and orientation settings.

Use Change paper size and print preferences when the owner needs to adjust the print setup. Generate a fresh document after changing a recipe, supplier, note, or output preference. Previously saved attachments remain a record of the information at the time they were produced.

Email the record and verify delivery

Owners and editors can choose Email PDF. Enter the intended recipient in Email address, review the address, then select Send PDF. The attachment includes internal kitchen and preparation notes as well as ingredient lists and recorded override reasons. Review that internal information and send it only to the intended recipient; it is not a guest-menu attachment.

If the screen says Local email, the message is saved to the local inbox and will not arrive in an external mailbox. On a hosted account, a send confirmation means the sending action completed; confirm receipt with the recipient when it matters.

If sending fails, keep the error visible and download the PDF instead. Check the recipient address before retrying, and avoid repeated sends when delivery is uncertain. A Viewer should ask an owner or editor to send the attachment. For a missing or clipped document, follow sharing and printing troubleshooting.
