Use guest filters, search, and language options
Understand what the public menu includes, how allergen filters work, and what English and Español change.

Open the guest menu
Scan the restaurant’s QR code or open its web menu link. You do not need a Dishcard account to use the public menu. Confirm the restaurant and menu names before looking at a dish, especially if the venue has several menus.
Choose English or Español near the top. This changes Dishcard’s interface, allergen labels, and standard guidance. Dish names, ingredient names, descriptions, and restaurant-written notes remain as the restaurant entered them; selecting a language does not automatically translate the restaurant’s own text. The language links retain your current search and filters.

- Use Search to enter a dish or ingredient name, then select the Search button. A description-only word may not match because search checks dish and ingredient names.
- Expand Filter allergens. Under Show dishes without, choose the allergens you want excluded.
- Select Apply filters. Dishcard excludes dishes recorded as Contains or May contain for those allergens. Dishes with unfinished ingredient information are also excluded from allergen-filtered results.
- Open a dish to read its ingredient list, allergen information, and any public preparation note. Variants can have different ingredient combinations, so check the exact version you intend to order.
- Select Clear filters to remove the search and allergen selections. The chosen interface language stays in place.
The filter labels come from the restaurant’s selected allergen set. They are not a complete list of every possible ingredient someone may need to avoid.

No dishes match those filters means the recorded menu has no matching result. It does not prove that the kitchen has no suitable option. A server can check current recipes and preparation with the kitchen.
A saved link may contain an allergen the restaurant no longer tracks. If you see Review the filters, clear the old selection and ask the team about that ingredient. Do not treat a missing filter as confirmation of absence.
Dishcard reports restaurant-entered information. A matching dish or an empty allergen list is not an allergen-free guarantee. Confirm your needs with the restaurant before ordering, particularly when recipes, suppliers, or preparation may have changed.
